No one wants to spend their time removing excess hair when they could be outside enjoying the summer weather! If you are tired of shaving, waxing, and plucking away body hair, you may want to look into laser hair removal!
How it Works
Laser hair removal is a proven way to eliminate areas of unwanted hair. By concentrating light through an energy source, pigment in the hair is absorbed. This causes damage to the follicle and can cause thinning and lightening of the hair, as well as prevent regrowth.
Laser hair removal works best on lighter skin tones and dark hair. If hair is blond or white, the laser has no pigment to target. A discussion with Dr. Husni during your consultation can help to determine if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal.
Most patients require a series of three to six treatment to see effective results. The number of treatments will depend on your hair color, hair thickness, and the size of the treatment area.
Is There Downtime?
There is minimal to no downtime associated with laser hair removal. While redness and swelling may occur after treatment, this only lasts for a couple hours. Patients should avoid exposure to the sun until the skin has fully healed, so sunscreen should be worn when spending time outdoors. In short- patients can return to everyday activities as soon as they feel comfortable.
