As a plastic surgeon, I’m constantly on the lookout for the best new products and techniques to help my patients get their best features possible and gain the look they want. That’s why I’m excited to discuss the Restylane Lyft, a new, minimally invasive injectable that can be used as a cheek filler and facial filler.
What Is It?
Restylane Lyft is a hyaluronic acid gel that can be injected into the cheeks and central face area to add volume to cheeks, fill out fine lines and wrinkles, and add a little “lift” to the overall face. Restylane Lyft has a thicker consistency than simple Restylane, which makes it perfect for use as a cheek filler and facial filler in the mid-face region.
As a hyaluronic acid filler, Restylane Lyft can be reversed if desired; results are temporary, lasting about 10 to 18 months, but the effects are cumulative and lead to prolonged benefits with each successive session. Restylane Lyft can be used in conjunction with other cheek fillers, facial fillers, and injectables such as Restylane Silk or Juvederm to target specific areas and achieve a more naturally youthful appearance.
Procedure Information
Patients typically use two syringes of Restylane Lyft during their first injection session, and then often decrease to one for small amounts of touch-up in subsequent visits. Discomfort is minimal, and a topical anesthetic on the surface of the skin can be used to numb the area for injection. As with any cosmetic procedure, there is some risk involved. However, cheek fillers and facial fillers are some of the safest procedures available; studies of Restylane Lyft had no more serious side effects than light bruising. As always, though, I recommend that patients do their research and evaluate their options before deciding on a type of filler.
