Is a Fat-Freezing Procedure For You?

In 2017, a revolutionary new fat-freezing procedure to remove stubborn fat was approved by the FDA called CoolSculpting. This exciting new way to eliminate fat is non-invasive and nonsurgical, unlike liposuction and other body contouring procedures that require surgery, incisions, and recovery periods. CoolSculpting has none of the risks associated with surgical fat-reduction techniques.

CoolSculpting is performed right in our office in less than an hour with no pain, preparation, or downtime. As the name suggests, CoolSculpting works by freezing the fat cells in a specific area using a specialized applicator that is contoured to the treatment area. These can be areas of fat such as the love handles, belly fat, muffin tops, lower back fat, thighs, underarms, and under the chin with the latest technology.

Is a Fat-Freezing Procedure For You?

CoolSculpting has already helped thousands of people get rid of stubborn fat pockets where diet and exercise are not working. CoolSculpting is best for you if have a total body fat composition between 20 and 35 percent and have pinch-able rolls of fat.

CoolSculpting targets fat under the skin in specific areas. After the fat cells have been frozen, they die and the lymphatic system expels them from the body. The first results are typically seen in about three weeks, and most patients begin to experience slight sculpting of up to 23 percent. In three months, the best results begin to emerge, with most of the treated fat cells expelled from the body. This means that weight gain can no longer happen in the treated areas.

The Coolsculpting Procedure

The CoolSculpting applicator freezes fat cells under the skin in one or two areas per session, which saves time. While the treatment is underway, you’ll feel a strong cooling sensation. However, this can quickly subside as the skin becomes numb. Most patients are able to relax and watch their show, read a book, or take a nap during the treatment session. The time frame of your treatment session can depend on things like the number of areas treated, but is generally completed within one hour. There can be some redness when the treatment is completed, but there are no needles or invasive techniques during the procedure. When you leave the office, you are free to return to work or go about your daily activities.
