What is an Echocardiogram?
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound procedure that allows Dr. Vazquez-Borrero to see the structure of your heart. The sound waves from the machine create a three-dimensional image on a screen in real-time. The test helps Dr. Vazquez-Borrero understand how well blood flows through your heart and how well the muscle is pumping.
How Much Does an Echocardiogram Cost?
We accept most PPO and HMO insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Echocardiogram diagnostic services at Adult Medicine & Diagnostic Center may be covered by your plan, and you may have some out-of-pocket costs, such as a co-payment, deductible, or co-insurance. You may lay on your back or side for the test. As Dr. Vazquez-Borrero moves the hand piece across your skin, a real-time three-dimensional image is produced on a small screen. The image provides adequate detail for Dr. Vazquez-Borrero to detect any abnormalities in your heart.
How Are the Echocardiogram Results Used?
Dr. Vazquez-Borrero describes what he is finding as he performs the echocardiogram. Once the test is complete, he reviews the echocardiogram results and develops a diagnosis for your symptoms.
