Easy Exercises to Commit to After Your Tummy Tuck

Tummy Tuck in Cleveland, OH

After plastic surgery, Cleveland patients, and beyond, should learn how to preserve their new look. Learn how to maintain your new taut belly following your tummy tuck with some simple exercises.

Stomach Crunches

The classic crunch is the first one exercise to perform on a regular basis. There are many variations of the crunch. You can do them with your knees bent and feet on the ground. You can raise your feet up and cross them at the ankles while you crunch. Or you can sit-up on an angle towards each foot and alternate sides to target those side muscles. It’s important to not pull up with your neck while doing your sets, as you want the stomach muscles to be doing all the work. And to keep your back healthy, make sure the small of your back is always pressed into the floor.

V Crunches

A second exercise requires a chair or stool. Sitting upright, lean your upper body back until it’s about a 45-degree angle. Then, with your legs straight, lift them off the ground to form a “V” with your body. Raise and lower your legs while keeping your upper body tilted at that 45-degree angle.

Floor Leg Lifts

The third exercise involves getting back down on the floor. Lying flat on your back, with your back firmly pressed into the floor, keep your legs straight and lift your legs at least 5 inches off of the ground. Hold for as long as you can and repeat a few times.

While you may need a follow up procedure, plastic surgery, Cleveland tummy tuck patients should continue with these easy formations several times a week to maintain the results after the first treatment.
